How thankfulness begins

I hope it was a good weekend all around!  Seeing how we are nearing the end of November, it was crazy busy for me.  There were festivities to be had morning, noon, and night.

One happy surprise – breakfast with my cousins.  They were driving through on their way to Yakima, Washington.  Profuse apologies for the blurry, grainy photo, by the way.  Not sure what the deal-io was there.  It may have had something to do with the snow that was beginning to flurry down.  Or the poor fellow my cousin grabbed to take the picture.  You could tell it was not his idea of a good time.  And can you blame him?  There he was , minding his own business, preparing for some artery clogging goodness, when some random stranger accosts him to play photographer.  Life just isn’t fair sometimes.

But if you can look past the quality (or the fact that I’m sporting some nice chipmunk cheeks and my mom looks like she’s sitting on an invisible chair) – it’s a great picture.  It reminds me how thankfulness can sneak up on a person.  Simply surround yourself with those you love most … throw in a hug or two … a ton of laughter … and your heart can’t help but overflow with thanks.
