Each year sunflowers pop up in our garden. We didn’t plant them, mind you; but they pop up all the same. I like to think they simply see our garden as inviting, so they stop and stay awhile.
And while there are times it looks as though we’re tending our very own sunflower farm, we let them be–because they’re bright, and cheery, and tickle-the-birds pink! Thankfully, these sunflowers are of the smallish sort … so we can pay them no mind if we so wish.
The other day, however, as I brought in the trash bin, I caught sight of the wee-est of fellows. It’s a miracle I didn’t run him right over. So I cut him, brought him inside, and he’s made me smile ever since.
So my wish for you, dear readers: may your days be bright and cheery … and filled with small surprises.
