Render unto Caesar

For those of you living in the US of A, Happy Tax Day!

You’re right. That is an oxymoron.

Hopefully you’re good to go, however, making it just another Tuesday in April.

Speaking of which, the weather here remains fickle. The day begins with sun shining bright as a spotlight; just when I turn off all the lights and throw open the shades, the dark, grey clouds move in, bathing everything in darkness. It’s exhausting. I need a nap, or a vacation, or at least a really good diversion.

Care to join me?

  • We’ll kick back and sip champagne with honeysuckle simple syrup {Who knew? Also, who knew there was such a thing as Garden & Gun magazine; seriously, the things you learn when procrastinating}.
  • You know, Butterscotch Drop Scones would be delightful–I’ll whip up some coffee, too, just in case. And water for tea? Naturally.
  • Perhaps I’ll light some brightly colored Danish tapers; that way, when the sun hides behind the clouds, it will seem more festive than bothersome.
  • We’ll lounge about, chatting and laughing–so we don’t feel completely worthless, we might do something  productive, like make plans for our gardens. With all the extra time and money my future surely holds, I plan to make a Pebble Mosaic Patio; also, wouldn’t these be great for a shade garden? They’d be all sorts of fabulous in a bouquet. Now, what about you?
  • And when all is said and done, this will be our theme song. Pretty sure.

So yeah, render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s . . .  so long as we get to keep the good stuff.

Good friends, good food, good conversation–and good music? A happy day, indeed . . .

An in home vacay sounds great! But who am I kidding?! Whenever I'm home, the computer beckons me :o/ Tax Day wasn't as awful at work this year. Usually, I'm dealing with a lot of last minute straglers, but everyone was on their best behavior this year :)
