o make certain you’re fully awake before attempting to warm up. Athletic types may be quick to proffer warm ups as a way to ward off injury, but they rarely expound on the peril involved when attempting to do so in the wrong frame of mind. Take the ever popular elbow-to-knee exercise, for instance. Sure, bringing your right elbow to your left knee may seem innocent enough. But low levels of caffeinated fuel, coupled with the effort of trying to stay awake, may cause your synapses to backfire. Suddenly, that low impact tap becomes a diving elbow drop worthy of the WWWF.
Let’s face it, hoofing up two hills is hard enough without having a self-imposed limp. And explaining your injury to your daughter? Forget about it. Not only will she laugh until she cries, she’ll probably do something rude, like blog about it.
