Ah, the weekend

{looks a good day to me}

Greetings & salutations,

Any exciting happenings this week?

I, for one, fell for Mr. Darcy. The Roastere, you see, devised a rather ingenious marketing strategy: target book lovers with specials the likes of  Mr. Darcy {toffee caramel mocha} and Mr. Bingley {yeah, I can’t really say . . . they had me at Mr. Darcy}. Can you even? I, for one, could not. I simply had to give it a try. And despite my fears that it might be too syrupy sweet, it was perfect. Naturally.

Oh, and remember how I hoped the ice on my windshield would not be too stubborn on the first day commuting to an office? Funny story. I awoke yesterday to freezing rain. Freezing rain! The sidewalks, roads–my car–were a solid sheet of ice. Stubborn does not even begin to cover it. It took nearly a half an hour just to chisel the windows of my car–ice chips were a-flyin’, as were, quite possibly, the profanities. We won’t even get into the roads or doing the penguin shuffle from one building to the next.

Other than that, I made it through my first day with little to no lasting trauma–I hope everyone I came in contact with feels the same.

Now that I mention, it reminds me of my friend, Ling. She works at ‘the home’ as one of the wait staff–a job not for the faint of heart. Yet she always has a smile, oftentimes a song, and if you ask how she’s doing, she’ll inevitably answer, “So far, so good!”

Not a bad way to live your life.

Of course, it is the weekend; so I hope your days are even better than good. As a matter of fact, should someone stop you in the coming days and ask how you’re fairing, may you have no recourse but to reply, ‘So far, so fabulous!’

xoxo

    Yum – The Mr Darcy sounds amazing. And Delicious.

    I imagine the Bingley to satisfying but bland.
    My recent post More bitter, less sweet.

      True enough . . . although, the Bingley could be quite sweet as well. I wonder if they\’re still there; I may have to go back and see for myself . . .
