HA! That turkey slays me. Personally, I think he’s on to something. Granted, I’ve had more fun than even thinking of traveling during the holidays. But playing hooky from everyday life? Now that, my friends is a splendid idea!
With that, I’m ready for the Thanksgiving holiday to commence. Granted, I’ve one more hectic day at work to get through. Then I’ve a pumpkin pie and pecan pie bars (thank you, Rooth!) to bake, a relish tray to throw together, green beans to . . . well, do something with. I haven’t quite figured that one out yet. I’ve also a table to set all fancy-like.
After that, it’s a free for all: prayers and laughter, family and friends, Christmas decorations to put up and the first Christmas movie of the season to watch, reading and writing, good food and drink. Yes, there will be some gluttony involved. But I shall be thankful for each glorious bite.
So before I jump headlong into celebration mode, I want to wish you happy days ahead. You may not be celebrating Thanksgiving, but I hope you have plenty for which to be thankful all the same. May you know, be you here or there, I’m thankful for you–yes, you. I may not know your name or your face, but I know you’re there. And that’s something. I mean really, think about it–life’s crazy. There are a thousand and one things vying for your time . . . still, you manage to pay a visit here.
It means more thank you’ll ever know, and I’m grateful.
Thank you! xo
