Don’t look now, but a week from tomorrow is Christmas Eve.
How ya holdin’ up?
I’m limping my way to the finish line . . . packages have been shipped, most the Christmas cards have been mailed, and I’m whittling away at the gift list. That means I’m getting closer to being able to think of baking.
Of course, with every available moment filled with the hustle and bustle of the season, it’s much too easy to lose site of the good stuff. Thankfully, it doesn’t take much to keep me tethered–a few stolen moments in front of a lighted tree, tossing some coins in a red kettle, a box of sweet treats from the neighbor guys. And let’s not forget the best of Christmas music. Of all the options, I never seem to tire of Christmas with the Rat Pack. I put it on when I’m serious about getting in the Christmas spirit.
A particular favorite is Dean Martin’s Peace on Earth/Silent Night. So here’s to us, one more week, and remembering what it’s all about . . .
