My town

Idaho tends to get a bad rap. Perhaps it’s the fact we’re “famous” for potatoes; perhaps it’s Napoleon Dynamite‘s fault.

In reality, there’s quite a lot to love. As a matter of fact, I like to think Boise is a lot like me: not well known, but full of character. So whether you’re new to the area, visiting, or just looking for something you might have missed, welcome to my town!

Upcoming events …

Please note, this list in no way encompasses all the goings-on in Boise and the surrounding area. Rather, being my blog and all, I listed those most dear to my heart–focusing on those that offer FREE admission, good photo ops, and a whole lot of fun!

Boise is blessed with restaurants and cafes, arts and entertainment, coffeehouses and pubs that are uniquely ours. Of course, being of the smallish sort, Boise boasts many a restaurant popping up–and closing its doors. That said, a definitive list this is not. These are simply a few of my favorites. They’ve been around for awhile; hopefully, they’ll be around a lot longer …

Berryhill & Co. | food & catering

Bittercreek Ale House | food {most notably “beer and grub”}

Casanova Pizzeria | neo-Neapolitan style pizza {perfect if you’re looking for a little something different}

Ella’s Room | lingerie

Flying M Coffee House | coffee

Goldy’s Breakfast Bistro | breakfast {their Fresh Mushroom Frittata is so good, it brings a tear to my eye}

Guido’s Pizzeria | New York Style pizza

Hyde Park Books | books

Idaho Candy Co.| candy {Idaho Spud bar, anyone?}

Idaho Shakespeare Festival | outdoor theatre

La Vie En Rose | European bakery & bistro, located in the historic IdanHa Hotel
