One of the things to love about Captain America: the 1940′s fashion. Designs from the 1920′s to 1950′s make me positively giddy. Just imagine my excitement when I realized another period piece was awaiting me from Netflix. The thrill! The excitement! So last night, after a highly unproductive day, I snuggled in to watch Shining Through. Unfortunately, the 80′s could not be kept at bay {the fact that it was produced in 1992 should have been my first clue}.

Now, to expunge the images from my mind, I’ve no recourse but to partake in a bit of fashion porn. I’ll peruse page after page of fabulous style; I’ll imagine having reason to don each fabulous gown.

Sigh.

Then I’ll slip on my Minnie Mouse flip-flops and head out to water …

PS-If you’d care to join me in the good stuff, here are a couple of my favorites {it is,after all, always good to be prepared}:

Here is a good example of why I will never be considered a Fashion Diva:

I do not look at the above sandal and think fashion. I look at it and think, “What in the hell is it?!!!” A medieval torture device? Summer footwear for the Roman Legion? The mere thought of putting that on my foot gives me the creeps. I get claustrophobia just looking at it. I mean really, isn’t the whole point of a sandal to give your foot some breathing room? Why – oh why – would you want to shackle your foot in up to your knee? It gives whole new meaning to the phrase, a slave to fashion …
