When you go to save your lovely, precious photos to an external hard drive, do make sure they all transfer over … even if the Copy dialogue box pops up … and the Pictures folder appears…and it takes roughly forever to accomplish … and you’re pretty confident they’re already saved via a computer backup anyway. Because if you don’t, your hard drive just might crash … and when you go to copy your photos back over, you just might discover that the only pictures you have to your name are from the last three months of 2008. And that backup? Yeah, it only saved the program files.
Of course, if you’ve been meaning to clear out and organize, this is certainly one way to go about it …
Good tip. Thanks. Sloane is down with strep throat, today. So, I'm home and grabbing the chance to catch up on neglected tasks and treats. The first thing I did when I woke up was come to the computer to start visiting my friends. So. Here I am. Hello friend.
Well, I'm very sorry to hear Sloane is sick-but it sure was nice to have your drop by! 🙂
Oh no!!! That's my worst nightmare come to life 🙁 I'm so sorry, Amy! That's got to be the worst feeling ever! Don't fret though. Maybe you can recover some of the stuff?? Talk it over with your computer people…maybe they can help?
Alas, they told me none of my files were recoverable. *SOB!* No, I'm okay … *whimper* … I'll be fine … *SOB!* 🙂
OH, I also meant to say, sorry. So sorry this has happened.
great tip and yes, it happened to me before too. now i download directly to an external hard drive and then back that up.
soo sorry it happened to you.
Yeah, I imagine it only has to happen once … at least we can only hope! 🙂
