Did you know that July is blueberry month? Not that I need a reason to eat me some blueberries, mind you. Love them. You know what else I love? After four long years, our blueberry bush is finally producing multiple rounds of the sweet fruit. Look at them go! Of course, they’re so wee, you can eat a handful without knowing it, but still–so exciting!
Now, I know what you’re thinking: Isn’t that level of excitement over home-grown produce a sure sign of old age? More than likely. There’s more. Last night I whipped up a bowl of blueberries, topped with light sour cream, brown sugar and cinnamon, only to discover I prefer them al natural.
Oh well. At least I have one thing going for me; they say blueberries help keep you young. From the look of those lines on my hand, I need all the help I can get.
Well then I must be getting old too, but because fresh, homegrown produce gets me excited too! Not that I grow any myself, but whenever I can get my hands on some from my green-thumb friends, I savor every last bit!
but the excitement of fresh blueberries in your garden is also a sign of childish joy 🙂

Hello, Amy! Many thanks for you loving comment at my place. We are still in great shock & sadness over the tragedy that happened here in Norway is past weekend. Thank you for thinking of us! I love blueberries. At the moment we're swamped with raspberries–picking some from our garden daily–yummy! So nice to meet you… :o)
