I cut the last of the flowers last week; it’s always a bit melancholy to see them go. Sigh.
But no use sniveling. A sun that turns in early gives candles a chance to shine. And from the sound of things, it’s going to be perfect weather for hunkering indoors–reading, maybe watching a good film. {For the record, if you have yet to see Buck, I highly recommend you do so. I went with my mum a couple weeks ago and we loved it. While parts were difficult to watch, it was overall inspiring. It also provided a joke to share with the old girls at “the home.” And we do love sharing jokes.}
It may also be the weather to clean-whether I want to or not. As I mentioned earlier, Jules, of Pancakes and French Fries, is living 31 Days of William Morris. Mainly, she’s holding to his standard: “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.” Watching her clean and tidy wracks me with guilt inspires me to do a thing or two. So much so that the simple act of bringing in winter clothes, magically turned to overhauling the garage.
Let’s all say it together, good times …
Although, now that I mention, a weekend both fun and productive? Well that’s a pretty grand way to spend your time.
So it is my wish for you: may you get the most of the days ahead.
… the best of weekends to you, my friends!
