In the last few years, more oft than not, our backyard has been hedged with little more than work. There are plants to plant, weeds to weed, and flowers to feed. I won’t even get into the hose that kinks or the deck in dire need of assistance. Sure, we traipse out to cut flowers, set a gallon of tea to brew, or pick vegetables–but just as soon as we set foot out of doors, we’re marching right back in. I’ve any number of excuses why this simply must be so–from an onslaught of bugs to the melting heat. But I’m fairly certain it boils down to one thing: I’m much too busy thinking of all that needs to be done, to enjoy what I have now. For shame!
With that, I’ve determined to get the most of my backyard this summer. And a fountain is just the ticket to get it done. Pretty sure.
So last weekend, as we shopped for new tomato cages, we perused wee fountains . . .
And you? Have you seen any fabulous garden fountains? If so, do send a link my way. I only ask they be of the smallish sort (25 inches deep is about max for the area I’m looking to put it); also, a nice, soothing sound. If it sounds as if someone is peeing, I will giggle like a schoolgirl.
