I’m a light weight when it comes to libations; more oft than not, I’m just as happy with tea or coffee (with a pastry thrown in, for good measure).
Still, there are times that call for a beverage of the festive sort. If ever there was such a time, surely the 2012 Summer Olympic Games would be it.
With that, here are few ideas to get us started. Inspiration must come from somewhere, non? There are those with alcohol and those without. Being Team USA, myself, I leaned toward the ol’ red, white, and blue (obviously), but you might be able to tweak them a bit to match your colors (or perhaps a ‘gold’, ‘silver’, and ‘bronze’). The Layered Patriotic punch, for instance; it’s basically just a layering of sugared beverages–great fun for kids of all ages!
So from whence you hail–be it here or there–may this help get you on your way to one fine celebration . . .

The layered patriotic punch is calling my name. Go USA!
Isn’t that fun? I especially love the use of star shaped ice cubes! And I think it would be a great drink to make with kids . . .
