Apparently, I was not your run of the mill child. Now, I’m not talking cuter or smarter–the things most parents believe of their offspring. No, I was simply more of a nut. While my mom takes full responsibility for some of my shenanigans, for others she’s at a loss. Take, for instance, my peace phase. Imagine if you will, a four year old girl with strawberry blond curls, walking with a hint of swagger, saying, ‘Peace o’ brutha!’
Ahh, the seventies.
Even then, my mom had no clue where it came from. There’s really no way of knowing. But it does help explain why I’ve always had a certain affinity for the O’Jays Love Train. Speaking of which, you can pick up some great dance moves from the Soul Train Dance Line. Here all this time I’ve been thinking I can’t dance–but I could have totally danced the Soul Train Line!
With that, I hope the coming days are anything but ordinary. May you take a moment to be thankful for the peace we have–and pray for that yet to be. May you have a little more patience, a little more understanding, and a little more love–peace does, after all, begin with the man in the mirror. And may you boogie down to the likes of Love Train–because, seriously, that’s just good times.
A groovy weekend to you–and happy 1st day of autumn, too!
That's too adorable – peace out brotha and have a wonderful weekend!
