Remember when multitasking was big? Thankfully, we’ve come to our senses. Not only do we see multitasking for what it is–unattainable–we realize it’s actually good to focus . . . and then take a break every now and again. I do have proof: 7 Things Highly Productive People Do, for instance. Studies continue with the trend. That said, what better way to head into a week ready to face our giants, than with a little socializing? Yeah, I can’t think of anything either. So pour yourself a steaming cup of goodness, pull up a chair, and let’s have ourselves a little chat . . .
- Can you believe the hoopla surrounding the unveiling of Duchess Catherine’s portrait? A man on the street lamented it looked as though someone had taken a picture of her on a regular ol’ day. Stop it! Are you kidding me? A portrait that conveys an actual likeness? For shame! Of course, others argue it doesn’t at all do her beauty justice. I don’t know, I think it’s rather lovely–it also seems to portray her dedication to duty, while hinting she’s much more than simply her official persona. In that, it seems a sad commentary on the times; we’re so used to Photoshop, and filters, and making ‘perfection’ we can’t handle reality;
- Speaking of . . . in case there was any doubt, I’m getting old. Per usual, I didn’t actually watch the Golden Globes, but I did peek to see who wore what . . . and there were entirely too many people I had no clue. Seriously, who is that person? Pitiful. Luckily, no matter how things change, I still love this guy–such a class act, on screen and off;
- Oh, and have you experienced YouTube’s annoying ad habits? Mainly, you’re attempting to watch a video, when two video ads play, simultaneously. It’s like a date who picks his nose right in front of you–horrifying, yet you’re not exactly sure what to do about it. Needless to say, after reading 15 Social Media Trends, I can totally see the ‘Brand Boredom’ (more like Brand hostility, where YouTube is concerned)–if you are at all involved in marketing, do proceed with caution, my friends;
- Now, before we head back to it . . . What is it you really want to do? Now, do that!
I'm totally over the video ads – oftentimes I can't find which window it's open in and the sound is just overwhelming.
My recent post What I will (not) miss
I know, So frustrating! I\’ve gotten a tad disgruntled a couple times . . . and let\’s be honest, God don\’t like ugly. 🙂
