Check out this Pistachio Orange Blossom Cake {with edible flowers} recipe from Greens of Devon
We have a new employee at work–she started on Monday. Yesterday, during the lunch hour, she met the love of her life at the courthouse and they married.
Then she came back to work.
They met in high school, you see. They were friends, but she was older and moving on to bigger and better things. So they went their seperate ways. Decades and lifttimes passed. When she returned to town to care for her ailing mother, she looked him up. They started dating and five and a half years later they eloped–without her children’s prior approval.
That was the story we heard as bottled water chilled, and we stood waiting for the wedding cake to be cut.
This is the second “reception” we’ve had at work in so many months. We’ve started taking bets on who’ll be getting married in August; because, let’s be serious, you can’t let a good thing go to waist waste. And the only thing better than a good love story, is some good wedding cake.
So with that, a lovely weekend to you. Seeing how love is in the air, I’ll leave you with a toast . . .
May your dreams ride on the wings of angels who know their way home to the skies.

That's an adorable story and the type of 'wedding' that I'm into
I loved that story!
And the older I get, the more I like the idea of a simply marriage ceremony. Life has enough crazy without inviting it to your wedding! 🙂
I love hearing love stories.
Also, I LOVE that cake. It is almost too pretty to eat, but it sounds so delicious that I would be willing to eat it anyway.
My recent post be contrary
Me, too. Sigh.
Isn't that cake lovely? I'm with you–I would probably feel guilty about eating it for about five minutes (seconds) . . . then I'd dive right in.
Amazing. the cake looks…delicious.
My recent post What to do with one day in Hobart
Doesn't it? I want a slice . . . I just don't want to heat up the house to bake it. 🙂
