My mum bought me this mirror for my birthday and I cannot tell you how much I love it. It shall be my motto for my 40s: ‘Let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words.’ (Plautus)
It was also one of the few things accomplished last Monday. You see, I took Monday off with big plans . . . big plans:
- Write all my thank you cards
- Buy Christmas cards
- {Start and} Finish buying Christmas gifts
- Write a Christmas letter
- Put away all my birthday gifts
- Clean a couple closets
- Hang my mirror
- Finish packing Operation Christmas Child boxes
At the time it seemed completely plausible to mark everything off the list and still have time to lounge about, eating cake. Truly.
Of course, I might as well have added “World Peace” to the mix, for all I accomplished. Still, it was pure heaven not to have anything I had to do, or anywhere I had to be.
I’m {not so} secretly hoping for the same this weekend – for the both of us. May we find days with no set plans, other than a little celebrating, with good wine and sweet words. Because let’s be serious, that’s the good stuff, right there . . .
Oh, happy weekend to you, dear friends!
Happy, happy birthday!!
I love Operation Christmas Child, too. Love it!

Why, thank you so much!
And isn't Operation Christms Child great? Those shoeboxes are my official kickoff of the holiday season! 🙂
You just reminded me, I have to finish buying my Xmas cards. And that mirror was a wonderful gift – good on Mom

Still have nary a card, by the way. I went out, but none of them jumped out at me. Drat! Here's hoping for better luck next time . . .
