The weekend is something of a blur; still, I did find time to finish watching the third season of Blue Bloods. Any suggestions for my next series? I think perhaps another round of Cranford/Return to Cranford is in order; then, on to something new . . .
I’ll try to reel in the addiction (no pun intended).
Awhile back, I started watching Castle, Season 5. Can I just say? The first two episodes proved I only love that show when it’s the whole ensemble of characters. Once they all hit the scene, I couldn’t wait for the next disk to arrive in the mail. So, I did the only thing for a rational human being to do–I went to Hastings. One episode a night called for a visit about once a week. Upon my last visit, I walked up to the checkout counter as a staff member trained a new employee.
The conversation went something like this:
Odd little man: When I hand the merchandise back to regulars, I like to say, ‘See you tomorrow’–it makes them feel special.
New kid: What about her? (throwing an index finger my direction) Is she a regular?
Odd little man: Yes, she is.
New kid (+I, in my mind): Really?!
Odd little man: Yes, she comes in once a week.
[He finally speaks to me, directly, rings up my video, takes my money and hands the video back to me]
Odd little man: See you tomorrow!
Gee, I feel so special.
Needless to say, I learned my lesson. A little will power’s a good thing.
I’d like to think that odd little man learned his as well; but something tells me that’s just asking too much . . .
Lol! In this case, I don't think it's too bad to be a regular! And pssst – there's always Netflix streaming! Every once in a while I go on a crazy marathon and no one has to know I spent the last 12 hrs watching old seasons of shows 😉
