In my opinion, there should be a mandatory day off from work following a holiday. Any holiday will do, but especially those holidays wherein you stay up way past your bedtime—in real clothes, no less—just in case some poor, pitiful waif ventures down your dimly lit street, looking for a bit of candy.
Luckily, this last holiday was worth the sleep deprivation. I received plenty of chocolate (including my favorite Lindt Black Current dark chocolate), got to spend time with family and friends, and saw some of the cutest wee sorts in costume: a bumble bee, a lion, a puppy, a princess–a two-year-old Clark Kent. Can you even? You would be looking at a picture if only I could have convinced my lazy self to download it from my camera.
Perhaps it’s my age. This will be the last weekend of my thirties, you know. It’s a bit disconcerting. And yet, I feel no older on the inside; so, in many ways, it seems like I made that up just now. Just another fictionalized account. I’m twenty-nine. Pretty sure.
Anyway, this weekend will be more of the same. I’m just thankful to have a couple days in which to frolic.
You?
Whatever your plans, I hope it’s the perfect start to a month filled with gratitude.
Happy November + happy weekend, to you!
Lucky you! I waited all night for trick or treaters and not a single one showed 🙁 as for the weekend? I plan to play catchup with the blog and website. So much to do!
Well, most of the wee costumes I saw were at work . . . we all brought candy and family members came trick-or-treating to our cubes. 🙂
I can't believe you didn't get any trick-or-treaters–it seems like your neighborhood would be a high traffic area. Maybe next year!
I think a day off after a holiday is a great idea. I also think that every person should not have to work on their birthday.

I agree! Having to work on a birthday is just plain wrong!
I do love November. I love it for itself, but I also love it because October's hectic weeks are past. My own darling dear has a birthday coming soon. She'll be twelve and I can hardly believe it. Happy, happy birthday to you, my friend.
My recent post just another crazy acronym
And a happy, happy birthday to Sloane!
Happy early birthday! What day is it (you can email that to me if you'd like)?

Why, thank you! 🙂
